What is better than spending a Saturday afternoon in a shop that has everything you need for your wardrobe and house all under the same roof! Recently I popped into my local Cambridge TK Maxx, just for a ‘browse’ and ended up picking up some fab bargains that I wanted to share with you all!
I have to be in the right mood to face TK Maxx. Sometimes it is just messy and busy and you have to root through a lot of things to find maybe one thing that you like, only to realise they dont even have it in your size. However – on my last visit it was clean and they had tidied up all the make up with the more expensive beauty products now in plastic security casing which is great as stops little kids putting their paws on the them…and then no-one wants to buy it.
As soon as I walked through the door I was just drawn, like I always am, to the beauty area; there was a whole NARS section and so I could feel myself start to internally combust – Poppy competitive game-face on, furtively glancing around to see if anyone else had clocked it and then grabbing a basket! I always pick up everything straight away (especially to stop that pushy lady next to me getting it all!) and then re-assess at the end what I think I actually need (Yes – ‘Need’!). They had the Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in lots of different colours for £5.99!! (They usually retail for around £18.50) The box was a little bit worn but I double checked everything i wanted and not one had been opened or swatched so I picked up 2 shades ‘Dark Rite’ and ‘Goddess’. These would still work as a great stocking filler for friends or family (Yes, I am thinking about Christmas!)
I then saw that they had one Bare Minerals Firming Face Complex left, it was all sealed up and was only £14.99 (Usual RRP £38) and so as my sister Tara says “That’s going straight in my basket”. (That one was a no brainer)!
Then I saw something reduced to £7 that made me squeal out loud. I have been using the James Read overnight face gel tan for years, it is incredible and gives the perfect amount of coverage; not too light or overly orange and never ever leaves streaks (and I am someone who likes to chuck a product on in a few minutes and with this one you can do just that and it works!) It is also on the spendy side of things, I usually buy on QVC for around £26 a pop, so couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a selection of sealed full size products, reduced to £7!
Me and M wandered around and treated ourselves to some books to read in the evening (The Creative Life and Works of Michael Jackson and a LEON baking book…seriously what more could you want!)
Also heads up, my local Cambridge TK Maxx was selling Canada Goose jackets for £399.99 instead of £800! They didn’t have one in my size otherwise I think I might have been walking out with one of them as well and a very unhappy purse.
