Recently I have been working long hours and just feeling overall a bit run down. On top of that I’ve been trying to fit in swim sessions and having some long busy days in London so I am zonked! Over the last few weeks I have been going to bed with my leg muscles not being able to relax and feeling really tense and achey all over. I am a big believer in my daily vitamins and like to make sure I am getting my full dose of most things good even if my diet isn’t always on form, so after doing some research online last week, time and time again magnesium oil kept popping up as a method to soothe your muscles from cramping, help you sleep and make you generally relax.
I have heard bloggers like Estee Lalonde and The Anna Edit also talking about using forms of magnesium oil or flakes so at the weekend I decided to pop into my local Cambridge Holland & Barrett store to see what they had in stock. They didn’t have a massive range and being too impatient to order the KIKI Magnesium oil from Cult Beauty I decided to purchase the ‘Better You’ Joint Magnesium oil… plus it was on offer for £6 so I thought it was worth a shot!
I have been having a shower before bed and then applying around 5-6 sprays onto the lower part of my leg and massaging in; it definitely smells a bit chemical-y (M wasn’t impressed) and almost tingled but I can honestly say that I had the best night sleep in ages. (Apparently the more deficient you are in magnesium the more your skin with tingle when you apply; it isn’t painful, but a bit like using a deep heat product, the more you use it and build up your magnesium the less your body should tingle and react with the magnesium). I don’t know if it was a combination of the relaxing oils the products claims to have, or the fact I moved and fidgeted much less all night (because my I was so uncomfortable), but it definitely worked in terms of easing some of the aches and pains and helping my body relax. I applied it again in the morning before going to work and overall so far have been really impressed with this product.
I know you will need to try it for a good few weeks to notice any major difference but so far, so good and it has really eased the pain. If you read about the benefits online it is definitely good if you run a lot, have cramping, get restless legs or if you have just had a particularly busy day with lots of walking and come home and sit down but your feet still feel like they are moving.
I would highly recommend and look forward to continue using this product!
