Here are my top 5 beauty / skincare products from ALDI Lacura
I definitely love finding a bargain, but when it comes to beauty products, a cheap price tag isn’t always enough, it can entice you in but if it doesn’t do the job, it isn’t worth the money, even if it was cheap.
Aldi have really upped their game over the past few years, they have a lot of products across the store, especially their homeware and candles which designs and fragrances are complete dupes of Jo Malone and Diptyque products… not quite sure how they get away with it, check out their lime, basil and mandarin range!
Although for some may feel like strange place to pick up skincare products, here my top 5 of recent purchases. I have been using these for the last couple of months and not only think they are great value but I have been really impressed with the quality, results and can see a lot of similarities to higher end products on the market. These 5 are are all under £6 so kind on the purse and a nice addition to pop into the basket when doing the weekly shop.
The only downside is some are limited edition at the moment and so you need to keep an eye out, Thursday and Sundays are when ALDI’s special offers come out. Hopefully if we rave about these products enough they might make them permanent items in store.
Lacura Hot Cleanse and Polish – £3.99, 200ml
Dupe of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish – £15, 100ml
This has been a game changer, I have been using Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish for nearly a decade, when money has been short I have always looked around for an equivalent that didn’t upset my skin but still left it super clean and re-freshed. The only one that came close and one i’d highly recommend is the Superdrug vitamin E own brand cleanse and polish… that was until I discovered the ALDI version. For £3.99, it comes with a muslin cloth and 200ml tube. I had read the reviews in advance so bought 4 boxes hoping it could meet the hype and I can not say it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The combination of rosemary, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus oil leave my skin feeling fresh, clearer and smoother as well as taking off all my make up and tough to budge mascara. The texture and product is bang on an with a 85% saving on the same size product from Liz Earle i’m concerned I have converted to the ALDI side. It was initially just a special limited time offer which sold out everywhere and was selling for 4x price on eBay. It has been back a few times by popular demand so if you see it, stock up!
It is also Leaping Bunny certified, which means it is certified cruelty-free…YES!
Lacura Charcoal Clearing Mud Mask – £5.99, 50ml
Dupe of Glam Glow Charcoal Mask – £42, 50g
Everything about this packaging is screaming Glam Glow dupe, the box, branding and pot is almost identical. I am a big fan of the Glam Glow products, the Super Mud mask being one of my all time favourites but when I saw this in my local Aldi store for under £6 I simply couldn’t resist. It left my skin feeling super smooth and bright, for the price you can’t go wrong, perfect for when you are looking for something more intense than a regular sheet mask. It’s only recommended to use maximum once or twice a week.
It’s feels similar on application to the Glam Glow mask, it makes the skin tingle and sets quite hard onto the skin. I find it quite hard to take them both off and it does get a bit messy, don’t wear white and expect to stain a muslin cloth for evermore.
ALDI Glycolic Daily Cleansing Pads – £2.49, 60 pads
The packaging is very inspired by Nip and Fab’s Gylcolic daily pads, the ALDI ones are nearly 80% cheaper. I have been adding them into my cleansing routine for the last few months and can definitely see a difference, they make my skin feel soft and smooth and are a great base to then apply make up. They have become a popular beauty trend over last few years down to them being a quick and easy way to exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells and take of any make up missed from cleansing.
These are an absolute steal if you want to try a gentle daily glycolic for the first time and have previously been put off the price tag.
I think the Nip and Fab pads feel more drenched in the product but the ALDI ones are a fab low price alternative.
Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Cleansing Pads – £12.95, 60 pads
Lacura Moisture Complex Sheet Masks – £1.99 – 2 masks
Who doesn’t love a sheet mask? When I was in China a few years ago I could’t stop buying different ones, I even found a shop that only sold sheet masks! I don’t usually expect to see a massive difference apart from just wanting to give my skin overall pick me up, especially if I have had too many gin and tonics the night before. I was really impressed by the hydration of the ALDI ones. I usually leave them on for 15 minutes, the sheets were soaked in product. I did one just before bed (whilst watching love island of course 😉 and was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and hydrated my skin looked in the morning.
These are a travel must, for the price I’d take a few in my suitcase / handbag, especially if you have been on a long flight and need to get moisture back into the skin quick! Very similar to the Garnier moisture sheet masks, but with ALDI you get two for £1.99 in comparison to £2.99 for just 1.
Garnier Moisture Bomb Pomegranate Hydrating Sheet Masks – £2.99, 1 mask
Lacura CC Cream (Light) – £2.99, 50ml
I’m usually a full coverage foundation type of girl, but recently after coming out of hospital and in the summer heat I have been looking for something a bit lighter that covers redness but without being too heavy. I have been really impressed with this product, for under £3 I have had compliments on how fresh and dewy my skin looks and although it doesn’t completely cover my freckles, it definitely diminishes most of the redness around my nose and chin. Very similar to the Mac BB cream, both with SPF which is great (ALDI SPF 15, MAC SPF 35). The product also contains porcelain flower extract, Vitamin B3 and UV Protection
Keep an eye on ALDI’s website for latest launches! Can’t wait to try more of the range.
